Open registrationNational Tourism Summit (NTS) is the annual flagship gathering of the Tour Operators Association of India (TOAI), bringing together TOAI members and leading stakeholders from across India’s tourism industry. Held annually towards the end of September in connection with World Tourism Day, NTS travels each year to a different destination, creating a unique national platform to showcase India’s diverse tourism potential.
NTS is designed as a comprehensive business, knowledge and networking platform featuring a Tourism Exhibition, B2B Meetings, Business Networking, Expert-led Seminars and Knowledge Sessions, Destination Showcases, Itinerary Presentations, Award Ceremonies, and Familiarisation (FAM) Trips, along with several other industry-focused engagements.
The FAM Trip is an integral part of NTS, providing participating tour operators with an opportunity to experience the destination firsthand, explore its tourism products, understand its accommodation and experiential offerings, and gain practical destination knowledge. These experiences help tour operators confidently promote the destination and develop new itineraries and business opportunities for their markets.
NTS’27 will mark the sixth edition of this prestigious annual summit. Previous editions have been hosted across prominent destinations, including Delhi on two occasions, Jaipur, Goa, and Odisha. The sixth edition will be hosted in the breathtaking destination of Wayanad, Kerala, giving participants an opportunity to experience one of India’s most distinctive and promising tourism regions.
NTS brings together a diverse cross-section of the tourism ecosystem, including State and Central Tourism Departments, Tourism Boards, industry leaders, hotels and resorts, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), tour operators, travel professionals, and other key tourism stakeholders.
One of the key objectives of NTS is to take the summit to a different destination each year and provide that destination with a strong national platform for promotion. Through destination showcases, expert presentations, B2B interactions, networking sessions and FAM Trips, NTS aims to familiarise tour operators with the destination and its tourism products.
The FAM experience plays a particularly important role in this process. By experiencing destinations, hotels, attractions, activities and local tourism products firsthand, participating tour operators can develop deeper product knowledge and become destination experts and ambassadors in their respective markets.
Through this approach, NTS helps create stronger destination awareness, encourage the development of new itineraries, and generate new business opportunities for both destinations and tourism partners.
NTS goes beyond being an annual conference. It is a dynamic platform where knowledge meets business, destinations meet decision-makers, and tourism brands connect with new markets.
